  3. 12 November 2003 - Lycoming College. The event will include dinner and the featured speaker is Dr. John Moore. The title of his talk is "Electron Chemistry." Get details.

  4. 21 January 2004 - University of Scranton. The event will include a social hour, dinner, and the featured speaker is Dr. Robert Guenard. The title of his talk is "Advancing Synthetic Fiber Designs with Analytical Sciences: Development of a Nylon Alloy for Carpet Fibers." Get details.

  5. 11 February 2004 - King's College. The event will include a reception, dinner, and the featured speaker is Professor Karl T. Mueller. The title of his talk is "The Structure and Chemistry of Complex Materials: Connections from Solid-State NMR." Get details.

  6. 10 March 2004 - Merck Riverside (Danville). The event will include a reception, dinner, and the featured speaker is Dr. Paul N. Devine. The title of his talk is "A Highly Regioselective Synthesis of a 1,2,4-Aminotriazine: Total Synthesis of an a2,3-selective GABA-A agonist." Get details.

  7. 14 April 2004 - Susquehanna University. The event will include a reception, dinner, and the featured speaker is Dr. Bill VandenHeuvel. The title of his talk is "An Introduction to Drug Metabolism." Get details.

  8. 5 May 2004 - Annual Education Awards Banquet -- Bloomsburg University. The event will include a dinner, awards, and the featured speaker is John W. Daly, Scientist Emeritus, NIH. The title of his talk is "Natural Products from Plants, Frogs and Arthropods: Imapct on Biomedical Research." Get details.


Special Events

Local Section to Co-host MARM 2006

The Susquehanna Valley Local Section and the Southeastern PA Local Section will co-host the 2006 Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM 2006) of the American Chemical Society. The meeting is scheduled for June 4 - 7, 2004 at the Hershey Conference Center in Hershey, PA. Those with an interest in serving in any capacity to facilitate the planning and running of the meeting should contact Donald Mencer (mencer@wilkes.edu). The MARM 2006 website is currently under construction, but check often at www.marmacs.org/2006 for updates.
