  1. 15 September 2010 - [at Bucknell] The meeting will consist of a social hour and a dinner followed by Local Section announcements and a presentation by our invited speaker. The guest speaker is Amit Basu of the Chemistry Department at Brown University who will present a talk entitled "Cutting carbohydrates". Get details.

  2. 13 October 2010 - [at Misericordia]: The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by dinner at 6:00 p.m. at Leggio's restaurant (formerly Pickett's Charge). The speaker will be Dr. Adriana Dinescu from Wilkes University who will present a talk on "From Transition Metal Chemistry to Molecular Simulation of Enzymes". Get details.

  3. 10 November 2010 - [at Lycoming]: The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by dinner at 5:45 p.m. at the Bullfrog Brewery at 231 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA. The speaker will be Dr. Donald Watson of the University of Delaware who will present a talk entitled "Recent Advances in Transition-Metal Catalyzed Cross-Coupling Reactions". Get details.

  4. 9 February 2011 - [at King's]: The meeting will begin at 7:45 p.m. and will be preceded by dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the the Fitzgerald Room in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center . The speaker will be Dr. Ephraim Woods from Colgate University who will present a talk entitled "Sea spray from a molecular point of view". Get details.

  5. Revised meeting date is 16 March 2011 - [at Bloomsburg]: The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by dinner at 6:00 p.m at Balzano's Restaurant Corner Gatherings. Balzano's is located next to the Bloomsburg University Campus at 208 East Second Street, Husky Korners Plaza, Bloomsburg, PA. Balzano's is BYOB. The speaker will be Dr. Wook Jun Nam from The Pennsylvania State University who will present a talk entitled "Nanotechnology in Solar Cell Devices". Get details.

  6. 13 April 2011 - [at Scranton]: The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Kildare's Irish Pub. The speaker will be Dr. Sean Devine, from Scranton University who will present a talk entitled "Palladium-Catalyzed Carbene Insertion Reactions". Get details.

  7. Revised meeting date is 4 May 2011 - [Annual Awards Banquet at Bloomsburg University]: With the presentation of various local section awards, the Annual Awards Banquet recognizes both aspiring and accomplished chemistry professionals in the area who have helped to promote chemistry, the chemical professions, and the section. The dinner will be at 6:00 in room 408 of the Kehr Union Building. Registration begins at 5:30. Please contact Mr. John Shirley (570-389-5159, jshirley@bloomu.edu) for reservations. Special Events

MARM 2011

The 42nd Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM 2011) of the American Chemical Society will be held from Saturday, May 21 to Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Hosted by the Chemical Society of Washington (CSW), the meeting will take place on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park, MD.
