October 2001 Meeting

The three hundred and thirtieth meeting of the Section will be held at Bucknell University on Wednesday, October 10th, 2001. The featured speaker will be Dr. Janet Woodcock. Dr. Woodcock's talk is titled "Regulation of Pharmaceutical Quality".

A reception will be held at 5 pm in the Faculty Lounge, room 240, Langone University Center.

Dinner will be buffet style, at 6 pm in room 252 of the Langone Center. The cost for dinner will be $8.50 per person. Reservations for dinner should be made by contacting Ms. Janet Zimmerman, Department of Chemistry, at 570-577-3258 or at jzimmrmn@bucknell.edu. Please leave your name and the number that will be attending dinner. Deadline for dinner reservations is 4:00 pm Friday, October 5.

The meeting will begin at 8:00 pm in the auditorium (room 116) of the Rooke Chemistry Building.

Dr. Janet Woodcock

Janet Woodcock, M.D. has been Director, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration since 1994. She previously served in other positions in FDA including Director, Office of Therapeutics Research and Review, and Acting Deputy Director, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. Dr. Woodcock received her B.S. in Chemistry from Bucknell University, her M.D. from Northwestern Medical School, and completed further training and held faculty appointments at the Pennsylvania State University and the University of California in San Francisco. She joined FDA in 1986.
