September 2001 Meeting

The three hundred and twenty ninth meeting of the Section will be a joint meeting with the Corning Section on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, at Shepard Hills Country Club in Waverly, NY. The event will include golfing, dinner and the featured speaker, Michael Destafano on the Secret Service Agency. The title of his talk will be "Knowing Your Money".

Golfing: Golfing is available, to start at 12 or 1 PM. The flat rate is $39 for 18 holes and includes a cart. The facility has showers.

Dinner: There will be a social hour at 6:00 PM followed by dinner at 6:30 PM. Dinner is a buffet featuring Chicken and Fish.
Industrials: $20.00
Academics, Retirees, Students: $18.00.

Directions:
Via I-81: Take 81 North and take route 17 East to Waverly exit. At the end of the exit ramp turn left. Proceed to the stop light. Turn right at the light (North). Proceed to dead end and turn left onto old route 17. The country club is approximately 1/4 mile up this road on your right (if you go past O'Briens you've gone too far).
Via route 6 and 220: Take route 6 west to just past Towanda. At the 220 interchange take 220 North towards Waverly. Go past the route 17 (86) exit and at the dead end turn left onto old route 17. The country club is approximately 1/4 mile up this road on your right (if you go past O'Briens you've gone too far).

"Know Your Money"
Michael Destafano

Mike is currently a Secret Service agent assigned to the Rochester office. His presentation will detail the different roles of the Secret Service Agency with particular attention to knowing your money. The new currency will be discussed including some of the steps that were taken to reduce the incidents of counterfeiting. Examples of counterfeit notes will be on hand.
