Special Announcement

The Susquehanna Valley Section of the American Chemical Society announces a Fall Bus Trip to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The trip will take place on Saturday, October 26th and is open to students, faculty and staff including family members. The American Museum of Natural History is probably the finest natural history museum in the world with many outstanding exhibits and shows. Among these is an unbelievable dinosaur collection, a state of the art planetarium, and one of the very best collections of minerals , gemstones and inorganic salts-arranged by chemical composition. This will be a fantastic day for all ---adults and kids alike. See the description below and plan your trip at their website.

Trip Details

Bus will leave from College Misericordia (in front of the Science building) at 7:30 AM and leave the Museum at 6 PM arriving back at Misericordia at approx 9:15 PM. Parking at Misericordia is available next to the Science building. (Directions to Misericordia are given below.)

The cost for the bus is $20 for adults, $16 for all students and children.

Basic Museum Admission is: Adults$12, Students $9,Children (2-12) $7. IMAX theatre and Space Show Admission are additional but package discounts are readily available. An advance group discount of appprox 20% is available if we get enough people signed up by Oct 10th. For further information check the Museum Admission site.

We will need the number of adults/students/kids in your group and a phone number where we can contact you. In order to reserve seating, payment for the bus must be received in advance. Directions to Misericordia

TO Misericordia from the West off of I-80--

Take I-80 to the Bloomsburg exit Route 487 North. Go north (15-20 miles) to Route 118 then go RIGHT on 118 East for about 20-22 miles to the end (in Dallas). At this point go RIGHT on Route 415. About two miles down at the first light (Center Hill Rd) go LEFT. Take the next LEFT at the stop sign. Misericordia main gate is 100 yards further on the right. Once on the campus- go up the driveway, bear right- park next to the Science building which is the second building on the right- the all glass building very near the road.

TO Misericordia from I-81

Get off at Exit 170B (old exit 47B)- Route 309 North. I-81 has signs for various local colleges. Follow Route 309 across the expressway, about 4-5 miles, (signs say "Dallas") and up the steep hill on the other side about 3-4 miles. At the five-way intersection (the seventh or eighth light) take the second RIGHT turn. Look carefully- there is a sign for "Misericordia". This is Lake St. The five -way intersection is 100 yards past a Wendy's on the right. Once on Lake St. go straight at the Stop sign, Misericordia main gate is 100 yards further on the right. Once on the campus- go up the driveway, bear right- park next to the Science building which is the second building on the right- the all glass building very near the road.
