  1. 11 September 2013 - [7:30PM at Bucknell University]: The meeting will feature a presentation by our invited speaker and will be preceded by a social hour at 5:00 and dinner at 6:00. Dinner will be in Academic West 211 (change from newsletter). The guest speaker is Scott Showalter, Ph.D. of the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University who will present a talk titled "A Physical Chemist’s Perspective on Intrinsically Disordered Proteins."   2. 16 October 2013 - [7:00PM at Wilkes University]: The third annual Bone Lecture will feature a presentation by the invited speaker and will be preceded by a dinner at 5:30. The guest speaker is Samuel Danishefsky, Ph. D.of the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at Columbia University who will present a talk titled "Biologics by Chemical Synthesis." Get details.

The guest speaker is Raymond E. Schaak, Ph. D.of the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University who will present a talk titled "Total Synthesis of Un-Natural Products: Chemical Concepts for Designing Complex Nanoscale Solids."   5. 12 March 2014 - [7:30PM at Susquehanna University] The meeting will feature a presentation by the invited speaker and will be preceded by a dinner at 5:30. The guest speaker is Mathew Maye, Ph. D. of the Department of Chemistry at Syracuse University who will present a talk titled "Designing Nanomaterial Architectures for Applications in Self-Assembly, Drug-Delivery and Energy Transfer."   6. 12 April 2014 (Saturday) - [at Joseph Priestly House] The lunch meeting will be preceded by a presentation given by the invited speaker Mary Ellen Bowden of the Chemical Heritage Foundation. Her talk is entitled "Priestley’s Last Gas: the Path to CO." Get details.

  7. 7 May 2014 - [Annual Awards Banquet at The Links Restaurant in Bloomsburg] With the presentation of various local section awards, the Annual Awards Banquet recognizes both aspiring and accomplished chemistry professionals in the area who have helped to promote chemistry, the chemical professions, and the section.The ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM; Please contact Dr. Geneive Henry (dhenry@susqu.edu, 570-372-4222) by Thursday, May 1, for reservations. The speaker for the eveining will be Dr. Swarna Basu of Susquehanna University who will present a talk entitled "Protein Cross-linking via Excitation of Aromatic Photoactivators: Techniques, Challenges and Advances."
